What subjects (heads) are examined in the ZIALE bar exam?

The Zambian bar exam, formally called the Legal Practitioners Qualifying Examination, consists of ten subjects (heads) [Legal Practitioners Act, S.23]. These are: Professional Conduct and Ethics, Bookkeeping and Accounts, Conveyancing and Legal Drafting, Probate and Succession, Commercial Transactions, Company Law, Civil Procedure, Domestic Relations, Criminal Law and Procedure, and Evidence.

Candidates sit written papers in each of these ten subjects [Legal Practitioners Act, S.23]. During the examination, students are permitted to access books and legislation as directed by the Law Society Council [Legal Practitioners Act, S.23].
